What is Tooth-Coloured Filling?

What Happens During a Tooth-Coloured Filling Treatment?

Preparation: The dentist will numb the area around the affected tooth with a local anesthetic to ensure the patient’s comfort during the procedure. The decayed or damaged portion of the tooth is then removed using a dental drill or laser.
Etching and Bonding: The tooth surface is etched with a mild acidic solution to create a rough surface, which helps the filling material bond securely to the tooth. A bonding agent is applied to the prepared tooth to facilitate adhesion.
Placement of Composite Resin: The tooth-coloured composite resin material is carefully applied in layers to the prepared tooth, shaping and sculpting it to match the natural contours of the tooth. Each layer is hardened with a special curing light before the next layer is added.
Finishing: Once the filling material has been placed and shaped to perfection, the dentist will trim and polish the restoration to ensure a smooth and seamless finish. This step also helps to restore the tooth’s natural appearance and function.
